What are Advanced Placement classes?
Griffin Groups
At SHA, our version of SEZP's Primary Person model is embodied in our Griffin Groups.
At SHA, we utilize a small group model where a handful of students are connected to an individual SHA teacher/staff member (GG Leader). This model is in place as on-site, scheduled, in-person time where students would work with their leader and peers to review current grades, problem-solve academic issues with students while encouraging self-advocacy, and promote personal accountability for their education.
Participation in Griffin Group is mandatory.
As the SHA Mission states; 'our students will gain admission into, find success within, and ultimately graduate from competitive four-year colleges, ready to achieve and contribute greatly to the world in which they live.' To that end, we provide extensive individualized support for students as they pursue this goal.
Special Education
SHA provides special education compliance and student support for IEP and 504 students. In addition to support for ELA as needed.
